Cause of Seasonal Allergies

The wind and insects scatter these oblong powder-like grains that come from flowering plants. In the process, it lands on our skin, faces, ears, and noses before triggering allergic reactions.

The most common culprit for the seasonal allergies is those that were spread by air. Because of the wind, pollens can travel long distances.

Signs that you have seasonal allergies

It’s hard to identify seasonal allergies so you may need the help of an allergist. However, below are common symptoms that you need to know.

5 Natural Remedies for Seasonal Allergy Relief

#1. Apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is the first that I recommend it’s available everywhere. In fact, it has plenty of use aside from common allergies. I make sure always to have this at home.

The vinegar can clean the lymphatic system since it decreases the creation of mucous. It dramatically helps during an allergy attack. Just mix a teaspoon of the vinegar with a glass of water. Drink the tonic three times a day.

#3. Local honey

We all know that honey is considered one of most effective home remedies. This time, its use is a natural relief for seasonal allergies. And why does it need to be local honey?

Well, as I’ve known, if allergy attacks are because of nearby pollens, your immune system can build a high level of tolerance when using honey that comes from the same area.

Take a teaspoon of this raw local honey three times a day starting a few weeks before the allergy season.

#4. Cool-Mist Humidifier

How can humidifiers help? Air that has a low-level of humidity can cause irritations in nasal passages resulting in itchy and watery eyes. When you are suffering from seasonal allergy, the low level of moisture worsens the said symptoms.

The use of a humidifier can provide quick relief. It releases steam into the air to increase humidity.

This is a recommended humidifier that’s suitable for the  home.

#5. Anti-inflammatory foods/diet

There are plenty of food and drinks that can help you when you’re suffering from allergies. Choose those that are known for its anti-inflammatory advantages. These foods can reduce the nasal discomforts and can even be prevention for acquiring symptoms.

When my allergies strike, I add food that has anti-inflammatory properties with every meal. Ginger, green leafy vegetables, pineapple, blueberries, salmon and other herbs are examples when you want to try an anti-inflammatory diet.
